POST-FIRE DATA POSTED ON SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY WEBSITE

Following the October 2003 fires, a Web-based spatial database and GIS capabilities was created at SDSU to archive fire-related data and support the San Diego Fire Recovery Network.  Data is available from the post-fire assessment done by the Burned Area Emergency Response team (Federal) for the 2003 wildfires.  It is now available through a web-based GIS data portal (http://map.sdsu.edu/firenet ), managed by Ming Tsou, Ph.D., in the Department of Geography, San Diego State University.  This Web Portal was created by using ESRI ArcIMS Metadata Server Extension with ArcSDE and MS SQL server.  Users can type keywords or select themes to query the metadata of geospatial information stored in the Web Portal.
